25 New Brothers for Delphi Chapter 25!

Supreme President Tsivicos had the honor of joining Delphi Chapter 25 of Manhattan as they initiated twenty-five new brothers into the Order. Delphi Chapter President Andreas Christou, SOP PSP, officiated the ceremony that was attended by multiple dignitaries on the Chapter, District, and National level including AHEPA Chairman of the Board Nicholas Karacostas, PSP, District 6 Governor Peter Ragoussis and members of his lodge, SOP Supreme Governor George Kalyvas, and SOP PSP Paul Pavlakos, who currently serves as the Chapter Vice President. Congratulations to our new brothers!



Reactivation in Chattanooga

Supreme Vice President Chris Kaitson and Supreme Counselor Themis Frangos traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee to reactivate Chattanooga Chapter 358! The ceremony was officiated by District One Governor Dale Greenstein, and AHEPA PSP Ike Gulas was among those who traveled to witness and participate in the reactivation. Welcome back brothers!

Tsivicos Makes Rounds in Florida

Supreme President Savas Tsivicos, joined by Supreme Treasurer Demetri Kirkiles, met with members of City Beautiful Chapter 161 of Orlando, FL on his recent visit to Florida. While there, they met with E. J. Elliott, Brother AHEPAN and Chairman of GENCOR. Brother Elliott, who was the first to volunteer philanthropic assistance to AHEPA when called upon, was presented with a ceremonial crystal decanter adorned with the Ahepa 100th logo in appreciation of his gracious gifts.


Furthermore, Supreme President Tsivicos was honored as the 2024 Person of the Year by the Pan Cyprian Association of Florida and was bestowed with the Kyrenia II award for his 30 years of dedication to working towards justice for Cyprus. Additionally, The Order of AHEPA as a whole was recognized for their service.


He next traveled to St. Augustine FL, Supreme President Tsivicos visited the St. Photios National Shrine, where AHEPA proudly assisted in burning the mortgage. The continued success of the Shrine was celebrated alongside dear friend Executive Director of the shrine, Poly Hillier.


The Supreme President's last stop was the New Smyrna Beach AHEPA Memorial with the Brothers of Speedway Chapter 410 in Daytona Beach, FL, where Brother Mike Lucacos was awarded the Ahepa Heroes Medal.

MOA & SOP Celebrate Valentine's Day in the ALB

Since 1978, the Albany, NY Maids of Athena and Sons of Pericles have hosted AHEPA Family members throughout North America at their annual Valentine's Day Dance, and this year was no exception. DOP Grand President Marianthi Treppiedi , SOP Supreme President Alec Economakis and MOA Grand President Ally Tsenekos were in attendance with many members of their lodges, and MOA PGP's Sia (Zois) Googas, Deanna Socaris, and Maria Ana Pantelous made an appearance as well! Proceeds from the Albany Valentines Day dance go to support the MOA & SOP National Project, The Boys & Girls Club of America, as well as the local chapters. Congratulations on a successful event!

AHEPA Hellenic Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination Applications Now Available

The Order of AHEPA Hellenic Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination Applications are now Available Online!

 

The Order of AHEPA Hellenic Athletic Hall of Fame was founded in 1974, and now includes more than 175 inductees. Annually, candidates are nominated by members of AHEPA, and after a thorough vetting process are selected by 20 Hall of Fame Selection Committee members, who encompass a broad cross-section of engaged voters, geographically and experience-wise. While selection recognizes athletic accomplishments, it also acknowledges personal character and civic and community service. 

 

The HOF honors the most outstanding Hellenic athletes and the sport’s industry’s leaders, including such greats as Harry Agganis, Alex Karras, Milt Pappas, Pete Sampras, Eric Karros, Gene Rossides, Steve Lappas, Bob Costas, Nick Markakis and Greg Louganis!


An applicant must be nominated by a member of the AHEPA family, by use of the attached 2024 Hall of Fame Application.

AHEPA Journey to Greece Program

Since its establishment, AHEPA, the largest and oldest Greek American Organization in the U.S., has consistently dedicated itself to advancing education for the upcoming generations. The AHEPA Journey to Greece program, a cultural immersion initiative, enables high school seniors and college undergraduates to earn up to six college course credits.


Originally initiated in 1968, the program transported a youthful generation of Greek American youths to explore their ancestral culture and land. After a hiatus, it was revitalized in 2006 in collaboration with Webster University. Now in its 18th year, the 2024 AHEPA JTG program is accepting applications for individuals eager to delve into the rich culture and history that Greece offers.


Scheduled to run from June 16 to July 12, 2024, interested parties can find more details regarding costs, schedule, courses, and application submission at the link below.

Tsitsipas brothers help Greece advance to Davis Cup World Group I

Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas beat Marius Copil and Victor Vlad Cornea 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-4 in the doubles to complete a 3-0 sweep of Romania and helping Greece to advance to the Davis Cup World Group I for the second time ever. In the first set, both teams held their serve. The Tsitsipas brothers missed two opportunities to break in the 9th game and Copil and Cornea took a 5-4 lead, but the set went to a tie-break where the Romanians prevailed 7-4. read more
