Highlights

  • EU dairy prices in the last 4 weeks; butter: 456 €/100 kg (+3.3%) , SMP: 246€/100 kg (+7.6%), WMP: 341 €/100 kg (+3.9%), cheddar : 359€/100 kg (+0.3%);
  • EU avg. farm gate milk price decreased to 43.65 c/kg in August 2023, -0.2% compared to July 2023, and -16.7% compared to August 2022, estimated price for September: 43.54 c/kg (-0.2% compared to August 2023);
  • IT spot milk price continues rising, now at 52.8 c/kg (01/10/2023);
    Feed costs decreased by (-0.3%) and energy costs increased by (+3.7%) in week 39 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
  • World dairy prices on 1/10/2023 show that Oceania is still price competitive on SMP and WMP, while EU on Cheddar and Butter;
  • GDT last auction (03/10/2023): general price index +4.4%. Price increased for: SMP (+6.6%), WMP (+4.8%), AMF (+3.7%), butter (+1.3%) and BMP (+0.6%), while decreased for cheddar (-4.8%) and for lactose (-1.3%).
