 In Ukraine last week Administrator Samantha Power reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to the country in its fight against Russia’s unprovoked aggression. The visit coincides with more than 500 days of war and with unwelcome news of Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative. But there were signs of hope from farmers, civil society leaders, energy workers, first responders, and others working to build a better future for Ukraine. USAID announced nearly $1 billion in new assistance to meet humanitarian needs, modernize and maintain the agricultural sector, boost economic recovery, and support mental health care. |
