This powerful statement, which also serves as one of six milestones of the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, a core program of the Obama Foundation—drove our decision to invest $1M in 33 Chicago-based organizations as a part of our Freedom Summer 2023 initiative.  Each grant recipient received $30,000 to scale their work to reduce summer violence in Chicago communities—creating and expanding spaces and programming where boys and young men of color can safely learn, play, and engage.   Your support of the Obama Foundation makes programs like these possible.   These organizations are already demonstrating how their summer programs can have a potentially lifesaving impact on boys and young men of color.
