● General Secretariat of the Council   Readers of Europe 2023 - Estonian recommendation   Over the course of the summer the Council Library, in collaboration with the permanent representations of the EU, will recommend books to read from across the EU with the fourth installment of our ‘Readers of Europe’ initiative. This year the spotlight will be placed on female authors. Todays recommendation is from the Permanent representation of Estonia to the EU : ‘Burning Cities’ by Kai Aareleid.

● General Secretariat of the Council   Library guide on EU relations with Latin America and the Caribbean   A summit will take place in Brussels on 17 and 18 July 2023 between the European Union and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). The two regions already cooperate closely at international level across a broad range of issues and maintain an intensive political dialogue at all levels. During the summit, leaders from the EU and CELAC are expected to discuss joint priorities and strengthened partnership. To broaden your knowledge and understanding of EU relations with CELAC, the Council Library has prepared a non-exhaustive guide of relevant and authoritative information resources.
