The Obama Foundation's update

Here at the Obama Foundation, we believe the future of this country belongs to the young leaders who will carry the baton forward.  

That’s why, with your help, we’re building the Obama Presidential Center and empowering the next generation to create their own stories of hope and change.

The Center will be so much more than a museum: It will be a place for people to come together. Changemakers from around the world will gather on the South Side of Chicago to share ideas, challenge each other, and challenge us. It will be a place of action and innovation.

With the Obama Presidential Center, we’ll show young people that if President and Mrs. Obama’s story is possible, theirs is too. That includes giving them the tools they need to turn their hope into action—access to a network of other changemakers, opportunities to deepen their civic engagement, leadership training, and more.

We aren’t waiting for the building doors to open to begin making an impact. The Foundation’s programs, which will find a new home at the Center, are already building networks of current and future leaders.

Our Leaders program connects and empowers regional cohorts of changemakers in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and soon, the United States. Our Scholars program helps rising leaders who are already making a difference in their communities take their work to the next level. The Girls Opportunity Alliance and the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance anchor our work by ensuring tomorrow’s leaders have the access and opportunity to reach their full potential. 

Thanks to you, these young people will be able to work together, learn from one another, and shape the future.
