Dear journalist, Media are welcome to join the WTO Trade Dialogue on Food titled “The Black Sea Grain Initiative”, which will be livestreamed on the WTO YouTube channel on 1 June, 14:00-15:30 (CET). The event will feature Director-General Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and distinguished speakers from the United Nations and other international organizations, discussing the latest developments of the Black Sea Grain Deal and the issue of food security. The UN-brokered Black Sea Grain Initiative was established in July 2022 and was recently renewed in mid-May. In its first two terms, this initiative facilitated the transportation of approximately 25 million metric tonnes of grain and food products from Russia and Ukraine to 45 countries, bringing down global food prices and stabilizing the markets.
