The National Medal of Science (NMS) is the highest recognition the Nation can bestow on scientists and engineers. It was established by the 86th Congress in 1959 as a Presidential Award to be given to individuals deserving of special recognition by reason of their outstanding contributions to knowledge in the physical, biological, mathematical, engineering, or social and behavioral sciences, in service to the Nation. These broad areas include such disciplines as astronomy, chemistry, computer and information science and engineering, geoscience, materials research, and research on STEM education. The National Science Foundation (NSF) is seeking nominations for the NMS from February 6 to May 26, 2023. We welcome you to join us for an informational webinar on the National Medal of Science.
