| Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala welcomed Vice President Francia Elena Márquez Mina of Colombia to the WTO on 6 December. They discussed outcomes achieved at the WTO’s 12th Ministerial Conference, in particular the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies, and how it relates to artisanal fishing. They also looked at how trade can be a tool for inclusion, particularly for women, small businesses and other communities that have been excluded from the benefits of trade. In addition, they committed to work together on the role of trade in addressing climate change and on supporting sustainable development. |
