On 1 December, World AIDS Day 2022, WHO is calling on global leaders and citizens to boldly recognize and address the inequalities that are holding back progress in attaining the global goal to end AIDS by 2030.

Injuries and violence are causing 1 in 12 deaths

Injuries and violence take the lives of some 12 000 people around the world each day. Three of the top 5 causes of death among people aged 5–29 years are injury related, namely road traffic injuries, homicide and suicide.

WHO has formally assessed the medical product regulatory authorities of 33 countries, of which only the Republic of Korea is listed as attaining this level in regulation for both locally produced as well as imported medicines and vaccines.
