Invitation Hearing of the Fundamental Rights and Rule of Law Group: "My body, my choice": protecting women's sexual and reproductive health and rights  06/12/2022 | 09:30 – 12:30 | Online and in EESC JDE 52

The EESC Group on Fundamental Rights and the Rule of Law (FRRL Group) wishes to inform you about the hearing it will hold on Tuesday, 6 December 2022, between 09:30 and 12:30 on fundamental rights and the rule of law: "My body, my choice": protecting women's sexual and reproductive health and rights. Recent developments in the US and some European countries have shown that rights acquired by women are not irreversible. This particularly applies to sexual and reproductive health and rights. These questions are a matter of individual rights but also of public health, as sexual and reproductive health services are an essential part of comprehensive healthcare provision. Societal debates on the questions tend more and more towards polarisation, at the expense of women who can become deprived of their free and informed choice. The hearing will gather the view of civil society on these developments. Your participation and input are most welcome! A programme is available on our website. Le Groupe du CESE sur les Droits Fondamentaux et l'Etat de Droit (groupe DFED) souhaite vous informer de l'audition qu'il tiendra le mardi 6 décembre 2022 entre 09h30 et 12h30 sur le thème "Mon corps, mon choix" : protéger la santé et les droits sexuels et reproductifs des femmes. Les développements récents aux États-Unis et dans certains pays européens ont montré que les droits acquis par les femmes ne sont pas irréversibles. Ceci s'applique particulièrement à la santé et aux droits sexuels et reproductifs. Ces questions relèvent des droits individuels mais aussi de la santé publique, car les services de santé sexuelle et reproductive sont un élément essentiel d'une offre globale de soins de santé. Les débats de société sur les questions tendent de plus en plus à la polarisation, au détriment des femmes qui peuvent être privées de leur choix libre et éclairé. L'audition recueillera le point de vue de la société civile sur ces développements. Votre participation et votre contribution sont les bienvenues! Un programme est disponible sur notre website.
