On 6 December 2022, the EESC will host a conference jointly organised by its three observatories on the theme of Accelerating transitions to build open strategic autonomy for Europe. The aim of the event is to explore: - What is the meaning of strategic autonomy?
- How could civil society help to accelerate transition to open strategic autonomy for Europe?
- How to ensure coherence between EU policies in the short and medium term?
The conference panels will seek to address the following issues: - Health, labour and social dimensions of strategic autonomy
- Strategic autonomy and the environment
- Ways for the EU to help eco-friendly innovation and to protect fundamental citizens' rights
