NATO Secretary General to visit the Netherlands

On Monday, 14 November 2022, the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, will travel to the Netherlands. Mr. Stoltenberg will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Wopke Hoekstra and the Minister of Defence, Mrs. Kajsa Ollongren.

NATO Secretary General warns of growing cyber threat at the NATO Cyber Defence Pledge Conference

NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, spoke today (10 November 2022) at NATO’s 2022 Cyber Defence Pledge conference in Rome.

Highlighting recent cyber-attacks against satellites, critical infrastructure and government departments, especially as part of Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine, the NATO Secretary General warned of the real and growing threat from cyberspace.

NATO Secretary General participates in discussion on Climate Security at COP27

On 08 November 2022 the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, was speaking virtually at an event co-hosted by NATO, the German Federal Foreign Office and the Munich Security Conference at the COP27, the United Nations’ Climate Change Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

Russia’s weaponisation of food and energy as part of its illegal war in Ukraine underlines the need to increase resilience, diversify energy supplies and sources, and accelerate the transition to cleaner, greener economies, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said today.

NATO Secretary General visits the United Kingdom

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is visiting (09 November 2022) the United Kingdom. He will be meeting with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr. Rishi Sunak and the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Mr. James Cleverly.

The Secretary General has visited a British military facility training Ukrainian soldiers, together with the Secretary of State for Defence, Mr. Ben Wallace.

NATO Secretary General to visit Italy

On 10 November 2022, the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, will travel to Rome, Italy.

The Secretary General will meet the Prime Minister of Italy, Ms. Giorgia Meloni and the Minister of Defence, Mr. Guido Crosetto.

Mr. Stoltenberg will also deliver a keynote speech at the NATO Cyber Defence Pledge Conference, which is hosted by Italy and the United States in Rome on 9-10 November 2022. 

Update - NATO Secretary General to visit Italy

On 10 November 2022, the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, will travel to Rome, Italy. Mr. Stoltenberg and Ms. Meloni will make statements to the press after their meeting.

The Secretary General will meet the Prime Minister of Italy, Ms. Giorgia Meloni and the Minister of Defence, Mr. Guido Crosetto.

Mr. Stoltenberg will also deliver a keynote speech at the NATO Cyber Defence Pledge Conference, which is hosted by Italy and the United States in Rome on 9-10 November 2022.

NATO Secretary General to visit the United Kingdom

On Wednesday, 09 November 2022, the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, will travel to the United Kingdom.

Mr. Stoltenberg will meet with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr. Rishi Sunak and the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Mr. James Cleverly. The Secretary General will also visit a British military facility training Ukrainian soldiers, together with the Secretary of State for Defence, Mr. Ben Wallace.  

NATO Secretary General to participate in discussion on Climate Security (online)

On 08 November 2022 the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, will open the High-Level Discussion on Climate Security, organised by the Munich Security Conference (MSC) at this year’s United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

The Secretary General will engage in an online conversation with the MSC Chairman, Ambassador Christoph Heusgen. This will be followed by a high-level discussion on action for climate and security in the Middle East and Africa, with Ms. Jennifer Morgan, Special Envoy for International Climate Action at the German Federal Foreign Office, Ms. Khadiija Maxamed Al Makhzoumin, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Somalia, and Mr. David Van Weel, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges.

The event is hosted in cooperation with NATO and the German Federal Foreign Office.
