NATO’s new multinational battlegroup in Slovakia declared combat-ready

NATO's new multinational battlegroup in Slovakia is now officially operational, following months of deployments and integration training. Troops from Czechia, Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia and the United States took part in exercise Strong Cohesion 2022, an exercise designed to run the battlegroup through its paces and prove its ability to work together as a unified command. At the conclusion of the exercise, a team of representatives from each country deployed with the battlegroup, declared the battlegroup was ready to assume its duties.

Meeting of NATO Defence Ministers in Brussels, 12-13 October 2022 - Media programme

A meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of Defence Ministers will take place on Wednesday 12 October and Thursday 13 October at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The meeting will be chaired by the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg.

Pre-ministerial press conference of the NATO Secretary General

On Tuesday 11 October 2022, at 15:00 CET, the NATO Secretary General will brief the press ahead of the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence, which will take place on 12 and 13 October 2022.

Media Coverage

Media representatives who have annual accreditation to NATO for 2022 can attend the press conference in person. Media representatives without annual accreditation, who registered for the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence and who received confirmation of their successful accreditation, can also come to the pre-ministerial press conference in person.

Accreditation is now closed and there is no guarantee that late requests can be processed. To make a late request accreditation, please contact NatoAccreditations@hq.nato.int.

The press conference will be streamed live on the NATO website, the CCTV at NATO Headquarters, EBU Worldfeed, to EBU news exchange, as well as on Twitter and Facebook.

A transcript of the Secretary General’s remarks, as well as pictures taken by NATO photographers, will be available on the NATO website.

The video will be available for free download from the NATO Multimedia Portal after the event.
