Call for Papers: Roman and Byzantine Christmas Traditions
The Orthodox Academy of Crete (www.oac.gr/en) and the After Constantine Journal (www.afterconstantine.com) would like to invite academic scholars to participate in the mini-conference Roman and Byzantine Christmas Traditions which will take place on Zoom, on December 17, 2022. The following topics are recommended (without being limited):
The origins of Roman and Byzantine Christmas traditions
The folklorist study of Christmas in the late Roman and Byzantine empires
Analyzing Jesus' nativity in the Gospels: History and Theology
The Byzantine and archaeological perspectives on the nativity of Jesus
Candidates are welcome to send their abstracts accompanied by a brief biographical note in English or Greek (as there will be two sections) to the Journal's email (afterconstantine@gmail.com) or to Mrs. Zoe Tsiami (zoetsiami@gmail.com).
