After four years, ILA Berlin, the international marketplace for aviation, defense, and space, is back LIVE! The last live ILA, in 2018, was attended by over 180,000 visitors and 1,100 exhibitors from 41 nations, and this year, ILA promises to be the largest aerospace event in the European Union: Defense & Support: Learn about current military procurement programs and meet with high ranking military officials from around the world in Berlin. NATO defense expenditures are on the rise as NATO nations strive to spend two percent of GDP on defense by 2024. At ILA 2022, armed forces and the industry will show how, together, they can meet a wide range of challenges, now and in the future. The Military Support Center (MSC) will place special emphasis on close cooperation between the industry and the German armed forces. UAS & Advanced Air Mobility: The vertical take-off industry is rapidly evolving, and the future of the third dimension of mobility is becoming a reality as unmanned aerial systems and eVTOLs are revolutionizing air traffic. ILA 2022 will introduce groundbreaking innovations in Unmanned Aircraft Systems, infrastructure, drone-based services, and electric vertical take-offs. Drones inspect wind turbines, bridges and dams, and quickly and flexibly delivers urgent goods such as medicines and spare parts. Electrically powered “multicopters” will revolutionize the way we get around in and between cities, with operations expected to be introduced in Europe as early as 2024. Aviation: The aerospace industry is researching and developing new technologies to make air travel more sustainable, quieter, and safer. Green flying is the future, and the next generation of aircraft may already be climate neutral. There is no contradiction between economic success and clean flying - on the contrary, and ILA 2022 will showcase the future of flying through state-of-the-art solutions and visions for the future. Space: Astronautical or robotic missions into space, reliable global communications, space security, hi-res earth observation for climate protection, precise navigation for intelligent mobility, technology transfer through research. ILA, the largest space exhibition in Europe, is where global space stakeholders meet to exchange ideas and define future joint projects. Space-based systems are gaining in importance in crises and conflicts, as they enable operational and armed forces hi-res situational surveillance, wide-area and encrypted communications for cybersecurity, and precise navigation and positioning. |
