In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament has established a number of measures to contain the spread of the virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities. The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities.
Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions.Following these decisions, the next PECH committee meeting will be held in hybrid mode on Wednesday, 16 March 2022, 09:00 - 12:00, 13:45 - 16:15 & 16:45 - 18:45 and Thursday, 17 March 2022, 09:00 - 12:00 and will be webstreamed.

Οι ευρωβουλευτές συζήτησαν τις επιπτώσεις στην ασφάλεια και την άμυνα της ΕΕ, καθώς και τον ρόλο της ΕΕ στον κόσμο. On 15 March, Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, will present to the ITRE Committee the RePowerEU Communication and will hold an extensive exchange of views with its Members on the measures proposed to keep energy prices under control, ensuring strategic gas storage levels are maximised ahead of next winter and for reducing in the short and medium term the EU's dependence on Russian oil and gas and enhance energy security.
