Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas has issued the following statement:
"The AHEPA family offers it heartfelt congratulations to Greek American George J. Tsunis on his confirmation by the U.S. Senate to serve as the next U.S. Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic. We beam with pride as it is a further testament to the fulfillment of the American Dream as he is the son of first-generation immigrants from Greece. "Tsunis arrives in Athens at a time when U.S.-Greece relations are at an all-time high point. We look forward to working with him and using our vast resources throughout the diaspora, including our 40-plus chapters in Greece, to advance the U.S.-Greece agenda and to take relations to even greater heights.
"We are confident he will continue the excellent work of his predecessor to ensure that Greece has the ongoing high level engagement and support of the United States across all sectors of the bilateral relationship."
