New grants will expand and diversify registered apprenticeships

We are making $87.5 million available for states to expand and diversify their registered apprenticeship programs. States can also apply for new equity and innovation grants to expand apprenticeships, ranging from $2 million to $10 million.

Education, employment training grants will support young adults involved with the justice system

We are making $25 million in grants available to provide education and career training to young adults who left high school before graduation, or are currently or have been involved with the justice system.

The department issued new guidance to states on implementing the unemployment insurance provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act, which expanded the number of weeks many workers will be able to collect benefits.
