Trade Policy Review: Myanmar
The second review of the trade policies and practices of Myanmar takes place on 15 and 17 February 2021. The basis for the review is a report by the WTO Secretariat and a report by the Government of Myanmar that were distributed to members on 21 December 2020.

WTO members have just agreed to appoint Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as the next Director-General of the WTO.  The decision was taken at a special meeting today of the organization's General Council.

Dr. Okonjo-Iweala will become the first woman and the first African to head the WTO.  She will take up her duties on 1 March and her term, renewable, will expire on 31 August 2025.
