2020 Census Count 99.6 Percent Done, Enumeration to Continue Through Oct. 31 As of October 4, 99.6 percent of housing units have been accounted for in the 2020 Census. Forty-three states, plus the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, are over 99 percent complete. Four states are over 98 percent complete, and the remaining 3 states are over 97 percent complete. Data collection for the 2020 Census is planned to continue through October 31, 2020.
