Assisting Workers Affected by Coronavirus
The U.S. Department of Labor will make up to $100 million in grants available to help address the workforce-related impacts of the public health emergency related to COVID-19.
Coronavirus Resources
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs issued a National Interest Exemption memorandum to facilitate response efforts for COVID-19.
Youth Reentry Grants
The Department will make up to $25 million in grants available to help young adults enter the workforce following involvement with the justice system.     
Job Openings Increase
Job openings increased to 7 million as of the last business day of January, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data released this week.

A Tennessee insurance agency will restore $3,818,181 to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan following a Department investigation.

Mine Safety
None of the nation’s 13,000 mining operations met the criteria for a Pattern of Violations, one of the Department’s toughest mine safety enforcement tools, during the latest screening.

Wages Restored
Georgia restaurant operator will pay $411,010 to 157 workers after investigators found minimum wage and overtime violations.

Hazard Enforcement
OSHA fined an Illinois filaments manufacturer $258,271 for exposing employees to machine hazards and placed the company in its Severe Violator Enforcement Program.

Back Wages and Damages
North Carolina restaurant must pay $120,949 in back wages and damages to 67 workers to resolve minimum wage violations.
