In Chicago, local organizations My Hood My Block My City and Brave Space Alliance are working to ensure the most vulnerable populations have the supplies and resources they need to weather this crisis.
Obama Foundation Fellow Alex Smith and his organization, The Cares Family, are devoted to fighting loneliness amongst seniors. But in an environment where physical distance matters, they’re connecting the young and old through new methods like video chats, along with traditional methods like postcards.
And in Singapore, Obama Foundation Asia-Pacific Leader Sherry Soon distributed 7,000 thank you notes and care packages for medical staff currently on the frontlines of the outbreak.

While we all face a long road ahead, and must continue to do our part to flatten the curve of COVID-19 transmission, I hope this collection of stories inspires you as it did me. I am never surprised by the power of our community to come together.
