Hi there,

When Michelle and I decided what we were going to do after leaving the White House, we figured the most important thing we could do was pass the baton to as many leaders as possible.

That includes leaders like John Leong, an Obama Foundation Fellow who is embodying the aloha spirit by preparing young Hawaiians for the workforce through conservation and sustainability service projects.

That’s the mission of the Obama Foundation: cultivating and supporting the talent of leaders like John. And on Giving Tuesday, I’m asking you to help us realize it.

With your support, we will inspire a new generation of leaders, empower them with the tools to get it done, and connect them to one another, because we know they can accomplish more together than they can alone.

We can’t do it without you,

—Barack

Hi there,

This Giving Tuesday, give the gift of education to girls around the world.

Right now, more than 98 million adolescent girls are not in school. These girls are bright and talented, and they’re full of potential.

Your support can help to give them the opportunities they deserve.

Today, Michelle Obama is encouraging all of us to support adolescent girls around the world to pursue their education and their dreams.

@michelleobama on Instagram: "#GivingTuesday is a reminder of how connected we all are and how important it is to give back to one another, especially as we enter the holiday season. This duty of giving back is what my parents and grandparents taught me, and it’s a value I’ve tried to live by my entire life—because it’s not enough just to make your way through life, thinking only of yourself. You’ve got to reach back and lift up others along the way. That’s why on this Giving Tuesday, I am so excited to donate the proceeds from the #IAmBecoming merchandise collection sold during and after my book tour—a total of more than $500,000—to the
@GirlsOpportunityAlliance, an initiative I launched last October to support adolescent girls' education around the world. This donation will fully fund existing projects that are supported by the Girls Opportunity Alliance Fund and fund new projects as well, including in Vietnam where I'm heading next week to see some of this work in action. I hope you'll consider joining me

Visit the Girls Opportunity Alliance Fund to learn more about grassroots projects that empower girls in a variety of ways, from providing scholarships and school supplies to mentorship and leadership trainings.

Next week, we’re heading to Vietnam to see some of this inspiring work in action. To celebrate, today we’re adding four new projects from Vietnam to the Girls Opportunity Alliance Fund to shine a light on the outstanding work being done by grassroots leaders across the country.

A small donation can go a long way. Join us to take action—because education is a gift that keeps on giving.
