Leaders: Asia

Hi there,

In just a few weeks, I’ll be joining President and Mrs. Obama in Kuala Lumpur for our inaugural Leaders: Asia-Pacific convening. But today, I want to share some exciting news.

I’m thrilled to introduce you to our first class of Asia-Pacific Leaders. While these 200 emerging leaders represent a diverse mix of backgrounds in the public, private, and nonprofit world, they all share a desire to work toward a better future for their communities and their region.

Hailing from 33 countries and territories across the Asia Pacific, our new cohort works on a variety of issues, from education to environment to entrepreneurship. I can’t wait for you to hear their stories and learn about the projects that fuel their vision for change.

During the five-day convening, our leaders will hear from prominent speakers and thought leaders—including President and Mrs. Obama!

We’ll livestream these sessions on obama.org on December 10-13, and send you a reminder to tune in. Be sure to check out the full schedule here!

But this event is just the start of a year-long journey. After the convening ends, the 200 Leaders will continue honing their leadership skills and creating a close-knit community of changemakers. In the coming year, Leaders will continue to inspire, empower, and connect with one another through virtual programming, as well as support, amplification, and other opportunities from the Foundation.

We hope you follow their journey and are ready to be inspired!
