AHEPA Happenings | District One Visitation
AHEPA Centennial Foundation's "Tribute" to Olympism sculpture erected in Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta, is a gift from Hellenes that commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Modern Olympic Games. Its "fan-like" form absorbed shrapnel thus protecting those who were behind it during the Olympic Park bombing. Pictured (l-r): Supreme Secretary Stasios, District Gov. Kipreos, Supreme President Horiates, and Supreme Gov. Kirkiles.
Supreme President George Horiates completed a visitation to chapters in South Carolina and Georgia last weekend. Supreme Secretary Jim Stasios, Supreme Governor Dimitri Kirkiles, District 1 Governor Harry Kipreos, and District 1 Lodge officers accompanied Horiates on visitations to chapters in Greenville, Columbia, and Spartanburg, S.C.; and Atlanta and Marietta, Ga. Growth and expansion initiatives and the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean were main topics of discussion.

In Atlanta, 20 candidates were initiated into the Order at a reception hosted by Mother Lodge Chapter 1. Horiates also visited the AHEPA "Tribute" to Olympism sculpture in Centennial Olympic Park and joined AHEPA family leaders to honor Sons of Pericles Past Supreme President Gregory Vourloumis.
