Supreme President George Horiates and Daughters of Penelope Grand President Celia Kachmarski attended the Athenagoras Human Rights Award Banquet in New York City, Oct. 19, and had the honor of being seated at the dais. The gala honored His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine with the 2019 Athenagoras Human Rights Award. The gala was part of a series of events held during the annual Archons Weekend, Oct. 18 to 20.

Hellenic Caucus Introduces Oxi Day Resolution 
Congressmen John Sarbanes (D-MD) Chris Pappas (D-N.H.) and Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), members of the Hellenic Caucus, introduced a resolution Oct. 22, expressing support for the designation of October 28 as "Oxi Day" to commemorate the Greeks' refusal to surrender to Axis forces in the Second World War, stymieing the march of fascism across Europe.
