President's Post: Memories of September 11 Always Remain
The memories of September 11 will always be with us. Time will not eliminate the sorrow. Words will not soothe the anguish. Wisdom will not explain the evil. But through yet another challenge to our values and way of life, we endure; and we were reminded that the fragility of our individual existence is infinitely surpassed by the indomitable essence of our collective spirit. This spirit reflects our finest personal virtues and defines our nation. 
AHEPA Exhibits at Thessaloniki International Fair
Our European brothers have sponsored a booth at this year's Thessaloniki International Fair, helping to elevate and reinforce the importance of promoting economic development for Greece. Stop by Pavilion 14 and say, Hello! The booth will be open until Sept. 15. 

Media Share | Supreme President at Truman Statue
AHEPA gifted the Truman Statue on behalf of Greek Americans when it was dedicated on May 29, 1963, before an audience of 20,000. President Harry S. Truman was a member of AHEPA, joining on March 25, 1946, at ceremonies held at the White House. He was a member of AHEPA Chapter 73, Kansas City, Mo. The country's new conservative prime minister, declaring that Greece was "no longer the black sheep of Europe," on Saturday announced a series of corporate and individual tax cuts, along with a plan to encourage investment. read more

Pfizer selects Thessaloniki for a new digital hub
Ekathimerini (Sept. 10)

Sources of the company's subsidiary in Greece have told Kathimerini that this will be a hub to host the company's high-technology and specialization work, in which the research and development of new drug procedures will be accelerated, aimed at improving patients' quality of life.  read more

Greece's prime minister said Tuesday that Turkey "continues to provoke" in its approach towards ethnically divided island nation of Cyprus and that Ankara was becoming isolated internationally.  read more

Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs has roundly condemned Turkey's stated intention to open a "consulate general" in the fenced-off ghost town of Varosha.  read more

Refugee crisis in Cyprus close to tipping point

Cyprus desperately needs the EU's assistance to deal with the influx of migrants. Those already there are facing atrocious conditions while they wait for their applications to be processed.  read more

Basketball World Cup: Greece call for officials to be banned after elimination
BBC Sport (Sept. 9)

Greece are calling for the officials who oversaw their final game at the Basketball World Cup to be banned.
The Greeks needed to beat the Czech Republic by 12 points to reach the quarter-finals, but could only win 84-77 as Giannis Antetokounmpo fouled out.  read more
