AHEPA mourns the passing of Dr. André Gerolymatos, director of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for Hellenic Studies at Simon Fraser University, on May 30, 2019.  AHEPA presented Dr. Gerolymatos with the Academy of Achievement Award in Education at the 88th Annual Supreme Convention in Montreal in 2010 for his contributions to the field of Hellenic studies and authorship of many books on modern Greek history.  Also at that convention, Dr. Gerolymatos provided an address at an AHEPA Hellenic Cultural Commission symposium titled, "Contribution of Greece to Western Civilization."

"We are deeply saddened with the news of Dr. Gerolymatos' passing," Supreme President George E. Loucas said. "His passing leaves a tremendous void. Our deepest sympathies are with the Gerolymatos family. May his memory be eternal."
