“Δεν είμαστε ιδιοκτήτες του κόσμου, είμαστε μέρος του” (ρητό των Αβορίγινων). Με την ευκαιρία του εορτασμού της Παγκόσμιας Ημέρας Περιβάλλοντος στις 5 Ιουνίου 2019, η οργάνωση Green Project (www.green-project.org) παρουσιάζει στο πλαίσιο του Athens Photo Festival 2019, το πρωτότυπο φωτογραφικό υλικό που συνέλεξε κατά τη διάρκεια του διαφορετικού περιβαλλοντικού οδοιπορικού στην Αυστραλία με τίτλο: “Platypus trail Μελβούρνη-Περθ: Ανανεώσιμες πηγές ενέργειας (ΑΠΕ), Βιόσφαιρες της UNESCO και Αβορίγινες”. Από τις 5 μέχρι τις 31 Αυγούστου 2018, 26 ατελείωτες μέρες και νύχτες γεμάτες με συγκλονιστικές εικόνες, έξω από αυτόν τον κόσμο. 5 πολιτείες: η Τασμανία, η Βικτώρια, η Νέα Νότια Ουαλία, η Νότια Αυστραλία και η Δυτική Αυστραλία. 2 επικράτειες: η Επικράτεια της Πρωτεύουσας της Αυστραλίας και η Βόρεια Επικράτεια. 11 εθελοντές, επιστήμονες και καλλιτέχνες, κατέγραψαν 41 σημαντικά “πράσινα σημεία ενδιαφέροντος”, πήραν 42 συνεντεύξεις, διανύοντας 13.110 χιλιόμετρα με οικολογικά τροχόσπιτα με φωτοβολταϊκά πάνελς πάνω σε χιόνι και πάγο, μέσα από ποτάμια και λάσπη, κοντά σε θαλάσσια οικοσυστήματα, διαμέσου της ερήμου και των άνυδρων περιοχών, τροπικών δασών και άγριας βλάστησης, κατά μήκος αλπικών περιοχών με παγετώνες, κ.α. Στις φωτογραφίες αποτυπώνεται η συνύπαρξη εντός των Βιοσφαιρών της UNESCO, των σύγχρονων εγκαταστάσεων ανανεώσιμων πηγών ενέργειας (ΑΠΕ) και της παραδοσιακής "περιβαλλοντικής γνώσης" των Αβορίγινων. Η γνωριμία με τις καλές περιβαλλοντικές πρακτικές της Αυστραλίας μπορεί να αξιοποιηθεί τόσο στην προώθηση αντίστοιχων εφαρμογών στην Ελλάδα, όσο και στην πρόληψη καταστροφών, όπως οι πυρκαγιές που συγκλόνισαν την Αττική. In order to celebrate the World Environment Day of the United Nations, the green-project.org presents in the context of the Athens Photo Festival 2019, the original photographs produced during an extraordinary environmental journey in Australia under the title: “Platypus trail: Melbourne - Perth: Renewables, UNESCO Biospheres and Aborigines”. From the 5th up to the 31st August 2018, 26 never-ending days and nights packed with spectacular images out of this world. 5 states, i.e. Tasmania Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia. 2 territories, i.e. Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory. 11 volunteers, scientists and artists visited 41 awesome “green points of interest”, took 42 interviews, covered 13.110 kilometers, driving eco-friendly motor homes with solar panels, on snow and ice, through rivers and mud, near marine ecosystems, across the desert and droughty lands, tropical rainforests and bushlands, along glaciation and alpine areas, etc. The photographs record the importance of the co-existence of the Renewable energy technology innovation and the traditional environmental knowledge of Australian Aborigines, within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserves. The in-depth knowledge of Australian best environmental practices could become a valuable source of inspiration in developing Renewables in Greece, as well as in preventing disasters like the wildfires which devastated Attica, last year.
