May 2019

Dear young media makers,

We are happy to announce that the European Youth Press and Università Roma Tre are organising the conference “Do You Speak European?” tomorrow, on 7 May in Brussels. The event will focus on the upcoming European elections, and questions such as how campaigning has changed over time and how to motivate young people to go to vote. We invite you all to attend the event and hope to see you there tomorrow!

Additionally, EYP establishes a new collaboration with European Science-Media Hub. Together we organise an ESMH summer school “Artificial Intelligence and Journalism”, that will take place from 4 to 7 June in Strasbourg. The program will include hands-on trainings on the use of new technologies for digital communication as well as discussions of case studies on the potential impact of AI on journalism and communication. The event will also provide an overview of AI and journalism, exploring some selected issues like algorithms and ethics.

For more news and opportunities, check the updates and calls that we have selected for you in this newsletter.

I wish you beautiful and sunny May!
