Greek Independence Day Celebrated
From flag-raising ceremonies, to marching in parades, to laying wreaths at memorial sites and Proclamation ceremonies at State Capitols, the AHEPA family celebrated the 198th Anniversary of Greek Independence over the weekend in the U.S., Canada, and of course, Greece. Hagia Sophia | Turkey Must Meet Its Commitment
In light of news reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for Hagia Sophia to be reconverted into a mosque, we are re-upping our 2016 statement calling for Turkey to meet its commitment to the World Heritage Convention, announced Supreme President George E. Loucas, who added AHEPA denounces President Erdogan's statement made on Sunday.

President Pavlopoulos: 'We must defend freedom against populism and racism'

President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos on Monday observed the military parade held in the centre of Athens for the March 25 national holiday, the anniversary of Greece's 1821 War of Independence against Ottoman rule, from the officials' stand in Syntagma Square outside Parliament. read more
Archbishop Stylianos of Australia Has Passed Away

Archbishop Stylianos of Australia passed away on Monday, March 25 at the age of 83, after a battle with cancer. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew learned of Stylianos's death while officiating during the Divine Liturgy at the Annunciation church in Vafeohorion in Constantinople. At the end of Liturgy, he offered a Memorial Trisagion for the repose of the soul of Archbishop Stylianos. read more

Astir Palace Vouliagmeni: A star is reborn

The time for the Astir Palace in Vouliagmeni to shine again is almost upon us. The landmark resort on the Athens Riviera, now owned by AGC Equity Partners and operated by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, is set to reopen on March 29 following an extensive overhaul. read more
